Conversation is a vital skill to your success.
One universal admission that all successful people seem to
share is that they could NOT have done it
alone! Conversation with others was required. Observers of
Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, have often noted
that his key to success was knowing when to work with others
and when to go it alone. When to have conversations and when
to remain silent.
“Networking” seems to be the conversation buzzword
of this particular decade. Any good businessman in conversation
with you will tell you
that
his most valued
assets (after his customers!) are his relationships
with other good businessmen. ‘Switched on’ businessmen
know that there is enough money in the world for everyone
- and
they are usually are happy to help others, believing that
it will come back to them tenfold. ‘Joint ventures’ is
another term used liberally in conversation today.
The last few years
have seen a slow change in business mentality. From
the 1980’s doctrines of ‘ball-breaking’ and ‘every
man for himself’ we are in a more wholesome, conversation
friendly and relaxed business arena. Where once greed was
seen as
a virtue - showing drive and ambition, now it is seen as
a weakness,
- showing need and a desire to fill an emptiness in their
personality.
Improve
your conversation skills and make the relationships you
need to succeed.
